How Will YOUR 2016 End?
I was sitting on the floor this week, working on my fourth quarter planning and I realized how close we are to the end of the year. There’s literally only three months left!
I’m wondering how 2016 will end for you?
Will you meet your goals or will it be a miss?
I get how it feels to have a miss – we all have them (me included!) – but there are ways to give yourself better odds of success.
Here are a couple tips on how to meet those goals:
Tips to Hit Your 2016 Goals:
#1: Plan in 90 day blocks. Planning in 90 day blocks is enough time for you to see out into the future, but not so far in advance that your goals become muddy. Accountability – actually getting those goals done — is much easier when you don’t plan so far in advance. Shorter periods of time (as opposed to year-long planning) is much easier to visualize.
#2: Ruthlessly eliminate all non-revenue creating activities. You know all that time on social media, creating new programs, rewriting your website for the umpteenth time? It has to end if you are going to meet your goals. We distract ourselves with stuff we CAN do, instead of doing the stuff that really MATTERS. Get rid of anything that isn’t related to creating revenue in your biz.
#3: “Begin with the end in mind.” (Stephen Covey) When you know specifically what you want to achieve, it is much easier to decide on what to do and when to do it. Create a list of your 90 day goals and post them. Let every action – daily, weekly and monthly – be in direct relationship to those goals.
