Should Solopreneurs Really Be SOLO?
Love this quote. As an entrepreneur, I have had my fair share of false starts and failures. The biggest contributor is trying to go it alone.
I see this all the time. Clients come to me having attempted to build their business without the sounding board of a coach or mentor and wonder why they are frustrated. The reality is that as a solopreneur, you need as much support as anyone else. Here’s the GOOD news that will happen as soon as you get some people on your side:
- Efficiency will rise! When you have support, you will be able to work on the things that will matter.
- Creativity will flow. Talking to someone else about your business means that you will have new ideas to propel you forward and keep you excited.
- Problem solving gets easier. Support means having someone to ask when your computer flakes out or you are not sure how to add a mailing to your Aweber account.
Support can come from a lot of forms. Both Facebook and LinkedIn have groups and you can participate in those. You can join a group coaching program, which can be effective and cost-conscious, or you can even ask a trusted friend to mentor you. The SBA has mentors as well. You can even hire an individual coach (Ahem, like me!) who can keep you accountable and moving forward.
Don’t be a lone wolf. Increase your business success and get some support. You’ll be surprised at the benefits!
