You know that old adage, “a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”? What they don’t say is that some of those steps involve getting up after you have fallen. If you are an entrepreneur or are considering striking out on your own, then you need to be prepared. The road to success includes bumps, holes in the road, great days, and flat out rejection.
The power is in knowing this from the start. When you understand that each day has a TON of potential, you will also understand that some of that potential may get clouded by a no here and there. What you do with those moments is what will determine if you succeed.
Option 1: You take on these moments and you crumble. You decide that your product/service/idea/self isn’t good enough to be in the marketplace. Heck, you shouldn’t even try!
Option 2: You have a moment when you crumble. Just a moment. Then you decide that it is time to get to work.
The transition between these two spots can be challenging. It is all in your thinking and your mindset. The farther you go, the more you will understand success is a way of thinking that you have to create intentionally. Rejection is just a sign that you are moving forward and taking a risk. In all, that is a good thing!
