Doesn’t Matter What You Feel
Let me start this post by saying that I’m a big feeler. . . at least according to Myers-Briggs. But, when you are starting your own business, feeling will only stall you.
Feelings, while helpful in so many areas of our life – relationships, love, parenting, marriage – have to be put on the back burner once the decision to start a business has been made. All the feeling has to be done on the front end before you start the actual work.
Once your business has started moving forward feelings don’t matter. Regardless of what particular emotion you are having on any particular day, the work needs to get done. If you spend too much time evaluating how you feel you’ll never move forward.
“Feeling” can stop you from making a phone call that could land you a cash-cow client because you are afraid.
“Feeling” can prevent you from starting the novel that has been burning inside of you because you are worried you don’t know the ending.
“Feeling” will give you more excuses than you can count.
If you are starting a business, you need to stop feeling (at least while you are at work.) When you stop worrying about how you feel you will succeed and that – believe me! – will make you feel great.
