Why Aren’t LinkedIn Summaries Finished?
Am I the only one who has noticed that most LinkedIn summaries aren’t complete, if they are done at all? Why is this? Just my two cents on this issue. . .
If you are going to take the time to use your LinkedIn profile, then it is a good idea to have it communicate as much about you as the 2000 characters will allow. There are some people – me included – who simply have a profile so they can look other people up. But, if you really want to get business from LinkedIn, then fleshing out your summary is a really good idea.
Think of it this way. . . People show up to your page expecting to learn something about you. They would like to be persuaded that you know your business and that you can be trusted to help them. If all your summary says is, “Joe has worked in manufacturing for 10 years,” that’s not a huge help.
Fill ‘em out, people!! Put your best foot forward and claim those 2000 characters as your own space.
